Creating FST

More than 25 years ago I partnered with the legendary founder of strategic family therapy, Jay Haley, to conduct grounded theory research in search of step-by-step tools to treat the traumatized family.

There were numerous models to treat just the traumatized individual, but very little to effectively treat the entire traumatized family.

In response to this challenge, emerged my co-authored book Treating the Traumatized Child, A Step-by-Step Family Systems Approach (Springer, 2018).

From this work, I have been coaching, supporting, teaching, helping, and advising therapists to become family trauma experts using the FST | Family Systems Trauma approach.

And through it all, I’ve discovered the MUST HAVE techniques that make a big difference in successfully engaging family in person and online.
